View SpecialsFor the past three years, we’ve given away an HVAC system to a family in need on Christmas Eve. It’s something our team enjoys doing together, and it feels really good to give back to our community.
Each year we use our radio ads to ask folks for nominations. This year we had between 200 and 300 families nominated. We were able to narrow it down to 11 deserving families. We sent those stories to some police officers and first responders to choose a winner. The winning family had a story that melted everyone’s hearts.
The first responders chose a single dad raising two kids of his own. His sister passed away a few months ago and he actually adopted his niece. He works the night shift so he can be with the kids during the day. He’s just a really hard-working and deserving guy.
On Christmas Eve, we took 5-6 technicians and a couple of office people, and we met at the end of the street. We all caravanned over to his house to surprise him.
I’m so glad we picked this guy because his HVAC system was very old, and he didn’t even have insulation in his attic. He was really surprised and thankful we were able to help him out. He was one of those guys that don’t show a lot of emotion, but you could tell by the look on his face that he was grateful.
