If you’re having high water bills, leaks, and several repairs – at some point, you’ve got to make a decision. Do you want to keep investing your money in temporary repairs, or do you want to invest your money in permanent solutions? Here at the On Time Experts, we’re all about giving people permanent solutions and peace of mind.
1. One tell-tale sign? Watch your water bill.
Whenever you see your water bill spike up, give us a call. We’ll send one of our plumbing experts out. They’ll take a look at everything for you, do a pressure test on your house, and will be able to determine if you have any leaks.
2. In some situations, we can inspect the integrity of the pipe.
We can’t do that on a slab home, but on a pier and beam home, we are able to climb underneath the house and take a look at the pipes to see what kind of condition they’re in. If you’ve got a really old home with a bunch of galvanized piping underneath, it’s probably a good idea to start thinking about making that investment, because it’s going to wind up costing you a lot more money in the long run.
4. When it comes to cost, there’s a pretty broad range.
I’ve done repipes on houses that are just one single bathroom, kitchen and laundry room, all snug together in one little tight spot. We were able to get those things done for two or three thousand dollars. That being said, I’ve seen repipes where it is a huge house, under the slab, and we’re having to do a lot of tunneling. Jobs like that go up to as high as forty and fifty thousand dollars, real fast.
5. With big jobs, there are several guys onsite.
Communication is key. We’ve got to be talking to each other. We’ve got to be communicating with the homeowner, letting them know what’s going on. We try to be as efficient as we possibly can, for ourselves and for the customer as well. They don’t want to have that downtime without water, so we want to make sure that we’ve got a good solid game plan.
We can always give you an estimate. We need to get onsite to take a look at what’s going on and spend a little time with you. We’ll be able to give you a firm estimate on what it’s going to take to get you taken care of at that time. If you think you might need to consider repiping your home in the near future, give us a call at 267-2007.
